Restoring Peace of Mind

Home / Restoring Peace of Mind

On July 1, 2010, Yorkton, Saskatchewan experienced extreme amounts of rain. On July 2, a flood emergency was declared and FirstOnSite crews rushed to help.

The storm sewer system was overwhelmed and many streets were under water, including sections in the heart of the city.

It was reported that some areas received 100-150 mm of rain in just 30 minutes. An estimated 60-70% of homes took in water and many businesses were also flooded.

Lois, one of our many customers, had over 4 feet of water in her basement. Never having experienced a flood, Lois was naturally distressed. FirstOnSite worked closely with Lois and helped her during the entire process.

“It is now over a month since the flood occurred in Yorkton, SK, and I send this letter in sincere gratitude to the crew and organization of FirstOnSite, who assisted me through the process and aftermath.

Personally, I want to begin with thanking you, as Manager, for your first visit to the house. The skills you displayed in that first meeting were able to help move me beyond the emotional distress of loss and had me involved in the cleanup process before I even realized.

Your clear direction and explanation of the process provided me with a sense of regained power, over a very powerless feeling of what to do next.

I thank you for the compassion you displayed, and your take-charge attitude, that provided much relief.

The “Timmins” crew that arrived were professional, hardworking and pleasant. They were available to answer my many questions, yet at the same time stayed focused on their task.

When all was said and done, they made the situation effortless and reduced all the stress I had been feeling over the devastation.

The work your team does is invaluable. Thank you all again for your assistance while in Yorkton.”

Lois O., Yorkton, SK
